Request deletion outside the app

Email hello@bakuapps.com with the subject Pet Care Journal account deletion. If possible, write from the email linked to your account. State that you want the account deleted, or that you need help with a deletion already in progress. Include the non-secret request reference if you have one.

Jakub Takac, trading as Bakuapps.com handles requests. We verify control of the email linked to the account and confirm the deletion scope before acting. If you cannot access that email or sign in, say so: we discuss proportionate alternative verification. Knowing a display name or animal-care details is not enough to authorize deletion.

You do not need to reinstall the app to submit this request. Sending an email does not immediately delete anything. We review the inbox each business day, respond without undue delay, and ordinarily provide information about action taken within one month. If a lawful extension is needed, we explain it within that month.

Delete in the app

1. Open Settings, then Privacy & Data.
2. Choose Delete online account.
3. Sign in again with the same account and sign-in method.
4. Review the scope, save any wanted export, and confirm.

The app saves deletion progress and checks for verified server completion before clearing this device. If interrupted, reopen the app to check progress.

What deletion removes

Last active home administrator

Deleting your account deletes the whole online home and its shared records only when you are its last active administrator. Export anything you want to keep before confirming.

Another administrator remains

Everyone who joins a shared home is an administrator. When another active administrator remains, deleting your account removes your account, access, identifying attribution, and authored notes. The shared home and care history remain available to its other members. Retained care history is labelled “Deleted caregiver”. Other members’ independently written content remains. The app shows the actual deletion scope before you confirm.

Devices and exported copies

After verified in-app completion, the app removes its local records, photos, reminders, and unsynced changes from the requesting device. An email request cannot remotely erase a disconnected device. Previously downloaded data can remain on an offline caregiver’s device until it reconnects and access is checked. Copies you exported elsewhere remain with that destination.

If the app offers Erase this device only, that is a separate local action. It removes saved status access without confirming or cancelling online deletion. Save your request reference first. A server-committed deletion continues independently.

Google and Apple accounts

Deleting Pet Care Journal does not delete your Google or Apple account. The in-app Apple flow revokes the app’s Apple authorization as part of deletion. For an externally verified request where no usable Apple token is available, we remove the app account data and explain how to stop using Sign in with Apple for this app. We do not describe that manual provider step as already complete.

What may remain and for how long

Committed account-content deletion removes accepted sharing-rules records and any unheld private safety cases from earlier app versions involving the deleted account or whole household, together with their private action evidence. A case subject to a documented legal or security hold can remain only while that need requires it; it does not block account deletion. Account-linked service restrictions are removed when the account is deleted.

For retained accounts, ordinary resolved safety cases from earlier app versions, receipts and private action copies are removed after 90 days unless a documented legal or security hold applies. A service restriction may keep only the account identifier and restriction time until lifted or account deletion. Minimal identifiers preventing removed shared events from reappearing remain until the household is deleted.

An unconfirmed deletion intent expires after ten minutes. A minimal completion receipt, detached from account and household identity, and minimal deletion synchronization records remain for 30 days. A committed request that has not finished remains pending until it can finish. Expired receipts or an absent account alone are not treated as proof of completion.

Ordinary resolved support emails are deleted after 90 days unless a documented legal or security reason requires longer. Provider infrastructure, security logs, and residual recovery copies follow their own applicable retention terms. Our production Free plan has one day of visible API/database logs and no included daily database backups; this does not establish the retention of every provider copy.
